However, he is less convincing as he attempts to explain why people – Bin Laden, his followers, you or I – would come to think about murder in such a celebratory way. Terrorism is indeed terrible, and to make it seem normal to people requires substantial social, cultural, and psychological pressures – and a charismatic leader.
