Social justice activists have addressed the conditions put forth by welfare reform and have found that these reform strategies have driven the single mother and her children even deeper into poverty. Moreover, the reform strategies have had a negative impact on the climate of the family environment, and have demonstrated a negative impact upon the social, educational, and recreational development of the children.
