This paper will study several aspects of White's depiction of theological issues in general, and Christianity in particular, in "A Fringe of Leaves". It will be argued that White perceives a disconnect between the public theology of imperialist Christianity, and its irrelevance as a belief system for individuals confronted by the random chaos of the human experience. 8 pgs. 16 f/c. 4b.
