This paper explores this ancient form of exercise. However, what Pakua really has to offer is a sequence of exercises that help the person to focus mind and body on the emulation of animals and towards greater balance, flexibility, and control of the arms, legs, and especially of the trunk or waist. Movements are generally done slowly and with work towards making them smooth movements, but always in Pakua's characteristic emphasis on change. 8 pgs. 5 f/c. 4b.
