The Monolithic Conception of the Family and the Role of State Policies in Discrimination and Family Disruption. This paper will examine this debate, and explore how the advocates of diversity are successfully - although, admittedly, with difficulty - countering the monolithic bias. In the course of this discussion, it will be shown how the role of the state, far from assuming a progressive or even a neutral position in the debate, are actually reinforcing discrimination through policies designed to accelerate the disruption of families that do not fit the monolithic bias. 8 pgs.
