We propose a grant in the amount of $8000. With these funds, we propose to hire graduate students to administer and set up a network of student volunteers to help unemployed and poverty stricken families. We want these volunteers to be made up of students from which this program will benefit. So we want involve poorer students. We will perform our services through the Denver Colorado Family Support Project. This food bank serves as a "port of entry" for most family support participants. They include: parenting classes, personalized work-readiness and job training programs, weekly WIC clinic; nutritional counseling; support groups and weekly drop-in parent-child activity sessions; service learning programs for youth.
