Question One: Individual Calling Question Two: Industrial Ideals in the INformation Age
Weber, Simmel, and Durkheim examine similar aspects of the human condition. However, the subtle differences within their respective perspectives present the fundamental differences between these three theorists. All three sociologists touch upon the humanistic concepts of honor, integrity, and individual freedom while examining such sociological concepts as labor, value, and sacrifice, superiority and subordination, and class systems as represented in fashion. An interrelation of these concepts from all three theorists attempts to illustrate that at the heart of these investigations, Weber, Simmel and Durkheim all address, to a certain degree, deeper philosophical issues such of the meaning or purpose of life, issues still prevalent today.
