How does the current distribution of power, wealth, and status in the United States affect the pursuit of truth here Within the United States, the power, the wealth, and the status held by specific individuals in power create conditions through which they can define the record to reflect their own views, rather than what transpired. This essay explores a series of writings which reflect that there is a bias within the historical record to distort truth in the public record, and this strongly suggests that the only accurate way to explore the truth of any events is found within the record of those which were they not active in positions of power at the time.
