This paper will be a discussion of the role of York in Shakespeares Richard II. The significance of York in the play will be examined. Why he is critical of Richard and then left the charge of the country and how the play would have been different without him are some of the issues that are addressed in the paper. As well I will take a stand about York's place in the play and why I feel he is in it.
