The Search for Extraterretrial Intelligences This paper shall discuss current scientific endeavours meant to establish the existence of extraterrestrial life and specifically extraterrestrial intelligences. Two methods for such a search will be considered. The first is the more traditional radio telescope search that scans certain radio frequencies for evidence of artificial signals amongst the background noise.
