This paper is written about panic attacks. A panic attack is a surge of a most uncomfortable and irrational feeling of impending doom and helplessness that suddenly happens in a particular place or situation. Breathing becomes difficult, the heart pounds, the body trembles, the person feels dizzy or nauseated and thinks that he or she is going crazy. Something unexplainable and unidentifiable is causing the panic. A panic attack has been observed to occur during critical life transitions, like a change of job, marriage, or the birth of the first child, usually in young adults and more in women than in men. It is overwhelming, unpredictable and respects no one. As such, it is a universally prevalent and serious mental condition.
