Effects of Drug Use on Fetal Children. Children exposed to drug abuse experience not only physiological but emotional and mental problems as well. After birth, children who have been exposed to drugs demonstrate health and behavior problems that are not generally associated with non-drug exposed children. Drug abuse does not only affect children exposed prenatally or to the secondary effects of addiction by parental neglect and abuse.
