The State in International Political Economy This paper considers dependency theory as expressed by Baran and Frank and other neo-Marxist theorists and compares this to Marx and other conceptions of dependency between the developed and underdeveloped world, suggesting some of the reasons for the disparity and ways in which underdeveloped countries can gain better control over their economic processes.
