Hobbes and Rousseau: An Analysis of Political Values This five page graduate paper examines why Thomas Hobbes and Jean Jacques Rousseau both come to the conclusion that, in some sense, a social contract needs to be formed in order to reduce the negative aspects of humanity and maximize the positive aspects.
