This paper will seek to understand a solid definition for the word 'divorce' in American culture. By using a three tiered system of morality, legal issues, and personal conflicts of interest, we can see how this defintion can be poised. In avoiding simple categories with one defintion in mind, we can see how we can broaden this term to show how divorce is a complex process involving three different subcategories.
