Wound Irrigation This paper analyzes the debate over whether wounds may be irrigated by tap water or better irrigated by saline solution reporting on a number of studies that show that tap water is at last as good as saline solution and sometimes better at eliminating bacteria and preparing the wound for further treatment, suggesting that patients might be better off using tap water.
