Transitioning from the Role of Student Nurse This paper discusses the differences in the role of student nurse and staff nurse. The paper discusses how many graduate nurses begin their duties as staff nurses with high expectations to only become dissatisfied with their new roles. Some major reasons for this are graduate nurses often stepping into shoes of an experienced nurse and the graduate nurse still has learning to do.
