When it comes to defining the philosophy of nursing several steps must be considered: nurse/nursing, client, health, and environment. As a student of nursing, I realize that knowing my own definition of philosophy and nursing is important now and will be later in my nursing career. Any philosophy of nursing should consider the commitment to a lifelong learning and professional development program, it must consider the role of the nurse in nursing, the role of the nurse with clients, the role of the nurse with healthcare, and the role of the nurse in the environment of healthcare.
