Narcolepsy This paper discusses narcolepsy as revealed in nursing journals examining the symptoms, prevalence, and treatment of the disease, which is a chronic disorder with symptoms including EDS (Excessive Daytime Sleep), cataplexy, sleep paralysis, hypnagogic hallucinations, and disrupted nocturnal sleep, and for which the treatment usually involves stimulants and low-doses of antidepressant medications which can dramatically improve the patient's quality of life.
