Approaching Trickster Myths from a Psychoanalytical Perspective:
This paper compares the Norse myth's Trickster figure, Loki, with his counterparts in a selection of Native American myths (such as Coyote, Nixant, etc.) using a Jungian perspective on myth as a process of societal self-realization. In this analysis, the Trickster God takes the role of cultural Shadow, which must be reconciled into the cultural attitudes as a whole.
