The Archetype of the Working Class Super Hero in American Society: Analyzing the Comic Book Hero Wolverine
In this paper we can see the social norms and psychological foundations of the archetype of the superhero in this study. By identifying what is ‘good’ and what is ‘evil’ in society, we can see a standard in literature that does not make the superhero a culture specific phenomenon. By choosing comic book hero "Wolverine" as the main superhero in this archetypal mode, we can realize how he portrays the working class in light of his physical, behavioral, and societal approaches to good and evil within American society.
