Sula: A Thematic Analysis of Toni Morrison's Novella
This three page undergraduate paper examines Toni MorrisonÂ’s novella, Sula, in which it is evident that identity is in the eye of the beholder. As MorrisonÂ’s theme demonstrates, blacks and women often have their identities thrust upon them by the townspeople in their communities. When this occurs, the victims can either accept such demeaning categorization, or they can reclaim their identity in whatever form their imagination and perception offers.
