Nick Carraway as Narrator in The Great Gatsby . Nick Carraway, the narrator, provides us with an honest and realistic portrait of this world. As a Midwesterner, he is not impressed with the east's values and, therefore, does not become deluded by them. Indeed, Nick is clearly the only honest person in the novel.
