Literary Analysis: Understanding the Theme of the Labyrinth in the Ficcione of Jorge Luis Borges This paper seeks to understand the theme of the labyrinth within the two short stories or ‘ficciones’ “The Immortal” and “The Garden of Forking Paths” by Jorges Luis Borges are great short stories to study for this. In the essential elements of understanding the metaphysical properties of ‘ideas’ in the human mind, it appears to be always changing in reflection to the perception of reality in the labyrinth. Borges creates these mazes to help infuse a sense of time and space, which ultimately reflect the horror or nightmare of the infinite.
