Fragmented Narratives and the Romantic Novel: Critical Issues in "Wuthering Heights". This paper discusses the narrative structure and the place of class issues in "Wuthering Heights". It draws on essays included in the Norton Critical Edition (1983). Ultimately, the essay concludes that the nonstandard narrative structure (diary entries and secondhand accounts) serve to romanticize a thoroughly Romantic story, and the class dynamic is merely an outgrowth of the "Nature vs. Society" motif in the novel. 7 pgs.
