Exploring the Human Condition: From the Greeks to the Beats
This five page undergraduate paper examines the common philosophical concerns of Sophocles, Shakespeare, Hawthorne, Ibsen, and Kerouac, who all sought to explore the human condition. Their key themes, dominant characters, and various plot devices all served as a means of defining human existence, society, and individual identity in terms their readers could relate to, understand, and profit from in their own lives.
