This paper comapres the heroes in two plays by Euripides, or at least attributed to Euripides, "Alcestis" and "Rhesus," showing how Heracles in the first and Hecotr in the second fulfills the role of hero while being differnet from the tragic hero in Aeschylus and Sophocles, noting the themes of each play and how thosethemes are given prominence through these characters.
