Classification and Division as a Form of Persausion This paper argues that in his essay, "on Studies," Bacon employs an unusual mode to put forth his argument, that of classification and division. Additionally, this paper looks at what a close reading of the Bacon essay reveals about the essay as a literary form, analyses his style, tome and syntax, and helps to shed light upon some of his other essays.
