Born to Follow Virtue and Knowledge: An Examination of Dante's Encounter with Ulysses. This paper will present an analysis of Dante's exchange with Ulysses in Canto XXVI of the Inferno. First, the paper will present a summation of Ulysses' character and story as Dante presents them and contrast the re-imagined figure of Ulysses in the Inferno with the classical Ulysses.
