A Statement and Pastiche of Oedipus Rex by Sophocles This paper will write a statement of intention in writing a pastiche for Oedipus Rex by Sophocles. By giving greater charcterization to oedipus by rewriting the play, we can see an attempt in an ancient style to create a differnet, yet more clear representation of how Oedipus chose pride and vainglory over the Fates that command all men, kingly or not.
