This paper examines the concepts of male and female by comparing two texts: A Vindication of the Rights of Woman and "The Female Spectator." Both texts were written by women before 1800 and, examine and dismiss the notion that men are innately superior to women. They attribute the differences to nurture and cultural influences. 6 pgs.
