The Revolution of 1848: The Role of Ordinary Germans
This three page undergraduate paper examines the role of ordinary Germans in the Revolution of 1848. The author notes that in analyzing the role of German workers, peasants, and artisans in the Revolution of 1848, it is evident that their attitudes and activities had a significant effect on the outbreak of revolution in Central Europe. While leadership and ideology are important in revolutionary times, it is the ordinary people that usually make or break a revolution, and the revolution that broke out in Germany in 1848 is no exception to this historical rule.
