The Peace of Westphalia: Its Importance to International Relations
This paper examines the importance that the Peace of Westphalia (1648) had for Europe and the remainder of the West in the subsequent centuries. Specifically, the paper deals with the impact that the Peace of Westphalia had on international relations, arguing that without the developments that arose from the peace accord state sovereignty would not have developed and the nature of modern international relations would have been quite different.
