This paper explores both the human and the legal confrontations of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. This paper examines the effects of the disaster on the local population and on the local industries. There is an emphasis on the role of legalities in this event, especially in respect to international regulations that were developed in order to ensure that such an accident would most likely never occur again if it could possibly be prevented. 10 pgs.
