In the NEA Today article, Mr. Swing Ambassador for the Culturally Rich Student, they discuss Wynton Marsalis and his efforts in promoting the arts, and specifically jazz, to enrich the lives of children. By the end of the article, however, it was apparent that MarsalisÂ’ focus, although passionate, may have skewed his thinking so much that he not only does not see the larger picture, but also has a distorted image of the small piece he does see.
