'Tyrannical dads create tyrannical offspring'. This paper examines the image of the father in Nino Ricci's "Lives of the Saints" and Roddy Doyle's "Paddy Clarke, Ha Ha Ha". Paddy's father is distant and pre-occupied, dismissive and cursory in his attention to his children.
