The Internet and its Social and Political Revolution. This paper discusses the explosion in popularity of the Internet. It explores the paradigm shift that it has caused in social and political relations. The Internet makes it possible for people living in any country, within any culture, or under any regime, to communicate with one another. As a result, this new technology has a profound impact on the social and political environment. More than anything else, it affects how elites can, and cannot, rule their people.
