This paper discusses the sexual risks of adolescence. Early adolescents - boys and girls aged 11 to 14 or 15 - have been described as intensely curious, observant and imitative, manipulative, expressive and generally un-inhibited (St. Anthony, 2002) At this age span, they are more and more conscious of themselves and are increasingly sensitive to expanding stimuli - at home, in school and the environment. It has also been observed that it is during this period that they begin to seek causal and correlative relationships (St. Anthony). These natural qualities open them to a number of risks, such as drinking, smoking, drugs, sex, depression and other mental and psychological disorders.
