Examining the Correlation between Domestic Violence and Child Abuse: Theories, Symptoms, and Breaking the Cycle. In order to help address the abusive environment, authorities must recognize the correlation between domestic violence and child abuse and target these behaviors as potentially symptomatic of a more significant problem. This paper addresses these points in order to illustrate the severity of the problem of an abusive environment in order to help provide guidelines for recognizing the signs of abuse as a preventative measure.
