The Viability of Using a Canadian National Identity Card to Deter the Spread of Identity Theft in Canada
This paper extensively discusses identity theft in Canada and the proposed national identity card complete with biometric information that would supposedly work as a deterrent against identity theft. In the end, the essay argues and concludes that any proposed measure to use a national identity card to prevent identity theft would be all but useless and would become too much of an invasion of privacy and personal liberties.
