This essay is for a Canadian Studies course on Canada and Poverty. This paper analyses the relationship between education and poverty, with a focus on two specific issues: the feminization of poverty (i.e., gender and poverty) and occupational segregation (i.e., the relationship between education and opportunity.) The essay makes particular reference to conditions in Toronto, and argues that there is a very specific and negative relationship between education and poverty. 7 pgs. 4 sources.
