Community Participation in Order to Understand Homelessness: A Brief Analysis
This 4-page undergraduate paper details an experience volunteering at the Good Shepherd Centre in Hamilton, Ontario. This paper examines how the experience impacts the author and the author understands of homelessness in Canada. Using interviews and secondary sources as well as the volunteer experience, this paper analyses the ideas about homelessness which exist in Canadian society. This paper concludes that the activity of volunteering revealed that even those who wish to help the homeless often express prejudices about homelessness.
