Risk Management and Startups This paper considers the point of view of the lender to the small business startup and the reasons why a decision is made to provide a loan, as well as considering why a lender might be more wiling to lend to a first time startup who had never had a loan before rather than to a startup that was refinancing and so changing lenders as a matter of choice.
