Financing of Retailers. This paper is written about financing of retailers. Now we will look at the issue of various securities by the company. During fiscal 2002, the Company issued $ 4.6 billion of long-term debt. The purpose of this was to reduce short term borrowings, to refinance existing maturing debt, and for expansion purposes. The management in the annual report states that it plans on issuing further debt for the purpose of expansion.
