E-Commerce Or Electronic Commerce. This paper is on e-commerce. E-commerce, short for electronic commerce, is not something that is exclusive to the Internet. Technically, "e-commerce" refers to the exchange of goods or services for money via electronic means. Such means can include the telephone as well as a personal computer. So calling up a company and placing an order out of a catalog is also considered to be a form of e-commerce-a form that was frequently, if not widely used, in the days before the Internet, but a form of e-commerce nonetheless.
