This paper analyzes the sale of European and Japanese automobiles in the Japanese market, at a time when the Japanese have been losing control of their own domestic car market even as they have been exporting jobs to the United States and elsewhere by buying those factories to produce their cars for foreign sales, and following agremeents with the U.S. government to open its markets.
