Marriage and women during the Tang period Hegin or "harmonious kinship" as a policy was often used in Chinese diplomatic relations. Han and Sui-Tang dynasties are known for their formation of marriage alliance in foreign conduct. The subject has fascinated many Chinese and Japanese historians, but not much have been written in English.
