The USA Patriot Act: An Examination of an Unjust Law
This paper is an examination of the USA Patriot Act, hastily passed by Congress and signed into law by President Bush in the wake of the terrorist attacks on the United States on September 11, 2001. The paper discusses some of the major thrusts of the legislation, arguing that the Patriot Act itself is an unjust law. Rather than having a significant impact upon terrorism, the law has only served to undermine personal freedoms and civil liberties in the United States.
