The Image of Change: America in the 1970s. This 3-page essay discusses three significant events of the 1970s: the Kent State riots, the formation of OPEC, and the Watergate hearings. These events are discussed as historical and as influencing contemporary culture and politics in the U.S.; however, the essay concludes with an emphasis on the role of the media in these events.
