The American Revolution: The Radical Development of the Myth of Individualism and the Subsequent Ideological Shaping of a Nation
This paper examines one of the radical developments that emerged in the early United States out of the American Revolution. Specifically, this paper examines the development of the ideological myth of individualism and personal freedom following the American Revolution. While the author admits the ideology is more myth than fact, it nevertheless marked an important formalized shift in the way that Americans looked at themselves and their place among other nations.
